Meet Prudence
Hi, my name is Prudence Uyungrwoth, a female activist empowering young underprivileged women in Kamuli-Uganda to earn a decent living.
Many young women in Kamuli-Uganda have limited alternatives to live a decent life, with multitude of challenges, including; teenage pregnancies, lack of access to education, poverty and sexual violence, many often resort to all sort of risky behavior in order to earn a living.
My Team and I
Support young underprivileged women from across different villages of Kamuli, Uganda to attain income-generating skills, restore hope, and empower them to build resilience and networks for solidarity.
We believe every girl is great and capable of living a decent life.
We Restore Hope
We provide emotional and peer support, mentorship, and a safe space to rebuild their confidence.
We Skill & Start
We equip youth with skills, especially crocheting, provide startup kits, and help them make their first $35.
We Strengthen
We help young women to explore and strengthen their spirituality and find inner beauty and purpose.
We Advocate
We prepare young women to become confident leaders and change-makers in their communities and represent others.
Why this counts
In Uganda, pressing issues like teenage pregnancies, high school dropouts, domestic violence, and lawlessness stem from the harsh grip of poverty. The post-COVID-19 pandemic situation took a dire turn. Kamuli District in Eastern Uganda faces the worst rates of teenage pregnancies, child marriages, and various socio-economic challenges.
